OUR STORY

The views from south facing Villa Peduzzi are nothing short of spectacular – a panoramic combination of blue waters and verdant mountains. These extraordinary views can be enjoyed from the balconies of every bedroom, the villa’s grand terrace and the exquisite pool house with its green roof and infinity pool. Also making the most of the breath-taking views are the yoga & wellness room that has been carved out of the cliff face and the roof top terraces, bar and entertainment area.

Built in 1909, the liberty style villa has been fully restored to exceptional standards, offering 1231m2 of living space. This includes; 9 bedrooms (7 bathrooms); drawing room; living room; dining room; kitchen; study; media room, bar; 2 roof terraces, yoga/wellness room; pool house and entertainment area.

At 881 metres above the lake and with no immediate neighbours, the villa is an oasis of calm. Once outside the villa gates, the picturesque mountain village of Pigra is only 300 metres away and is the perfect base for hiking and mountain biking. Pigra enjoys a couple of restaurants and a tennis court in addition to its own cable car station that runs to the lakeside village of Argegno below

Albano.jpg

The interiors of Villa Peduzzi have been tastefully designed by Singapore-based interior designer, Albano Daminato.

Taking inspiration from the Liberty style, and infusing elements of Scandinavian and Japanese design, each space exudes a sense of calm and comfort in every room. Hand crafted wood, marble and fabric elements add style and luxury to the core of Villa Peduzzi.

Those original Liberty frescos that could be saved were elegantly restored by Gerso - famed for their restoration of the façade at St Mark’s square in Venice – and incorporate subtle new hues to reinvigorate the 110 year old designs.

Villa Peduzzi was designed with timeless elegance by London-based Italian architect Andrea Meirana.

The building was restored to its original 1900 grandeur, incorporating luxury of the contemporary living with a completely redesigned and raised roof. This opened up space for two new terraces, overlooking the lake.

The newly added balconies elegantly balance the proportions and enhance the perspective from below, while the original facade decorations were revised to new slender proportions.

A bold excavation under the building gave way to a brand new gym space.

The swimming pool and the pool house were carefully designed to fit within the landscape, creating a breathtaking experience of the location where the water and the sky permeate its indoor and outdoor space.

The ambition of the design was to emphasise the unique arrangement between the magnificent heritage and the beauty of the surrounding nature. With a modern demand for functionality and comfort in mind, the design was executed in a very subtle, elegant and harmonious way, preserving the historic integrity of Villa Peduzzi.
